Baseball Recap: Trinity Gets the Win

Trinity never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Union County on Tuesday. They walked away with a 17-14 victory over the Braves. With that win, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Isaac Hernandez was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Trinity got a massive performance out of Cale Boarman, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Boarman has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Grant Howard, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Trinity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Trinity's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Union County, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity will welcome McLean County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Union County, they will be playing at home against Murray at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
