Baseball Recap: Yorba Linda Takes a Loss

Yorba Linda's tournament run continued when they took on Citrus Valley on Friday. The Yorba Linda Mustangs took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Citrus Valley Blackhawks. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly five runs.

Owen Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Drew Parmenter also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Yorba Linda and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Citrus Valley, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Yorba Linda wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Crean Lutheran on the 3rd. As for Citrus Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 1-0 loss against Crescenta Valley on the 1st.
