Volleyball Recap: Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats vs. Tri County Northeast Wolfpack

Hartington-Newcastle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri County Northeast Wolfpack. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Wolfpack when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Tri County Northeast scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18.

Karissa Bruning paced Hartington-Newcastle's offense, picking up five kills. Bruning got some help from Lainey Morten and her ten assists. Vayda Lippert controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Hartington-Newcastle's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Tri County Northeast, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

Coincidentally, Hartington-Newcastle and Tri County Northeast will both be playing Wausa the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will host the Vikings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wolfpack will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
