Baseball Recap: Ladysmith Lumberjacks vs. St. Croix Falls Saints
Ladysmith extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the St. Croix Falls Saints. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in April.
Ladysmith saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Strop, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
As for St. Croix Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.
On St. Croix Falls' side, the result came thanks to Brett Sladky's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Brodie Allram was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Carter Ridgeway was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
