The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Abelardo Leos, Santana Letua, and Joseph Rodriguez, who each picked up one sack apiece. Leos was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against Chaparral, falling 61-23. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-10.
Murrieta Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Thursday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Murrieta Valley has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 262.1 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Roosevelt, though, as they've been averaging only 51.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
