Volleyball Recap: Marian Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Rockford

Marian faced Rockford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Rams. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Rockford was led to victory by Anna Dady and Izzie Delacher. Dady had seven digs and one assist, while Delacher had 19 assists and five digs. Delacher is also on a roll when it comes to hitting percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last 14 games she's played.

Marian moved to 32-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Rockford, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 30-1.

Marian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brighton at 5:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Rockford, they will take on Hudsonville at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
