Wake Forest came tearing into Thursday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the East Wake Warriors with a sharp 11-1 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Carson Crider tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Stephen Crater was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jake Bucklin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Wake Forest hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Wake Forest's record now sits at 11-1. As for East Wake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Wake Forest has already played their next matchup, a 15-1 victory against Lee County on the 2nd. As for East Wake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-5 win against Fike on the 30th.
