Northern came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Chopticon Braves by a score of 69-62. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered an 86-66 loss the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Chopticon lost, don't look at Bryson Fenwick. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 19 to rack up 25 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Fenwick a new career-high in points. Jacob Waddell was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and six boards.

Northern's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points over those games. As for Chopticon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Coming up, Northern will head out on the road to face off against Leonardtown at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Leonardtown will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Northern surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chopticon, they will host Calvert at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Chopticon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.
