Football Recap: Monticello Billies vs. Southside Southerners
Monticello and Southside squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Monticello had to settle for second. They took a hard 24-7 fall against the Southside Southerners. The Billies were red-hot offensively headed into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the five contests prior) but the Southerners' defense proved too tough.
The critical scores for Southside came from Cameron Foree, Owen McLaughlin, and Landon Mcspadden.
With the loss, Monticello broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4. As for Southside, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
