Soccer Game Preview: Salisbury vs. Mount Pleasant

Salisbury is a perfect 3-0 against Mount Pleasant since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

While Salisbury's victory against East Davidson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets never let the Golden Eagles get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Wednesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Salisbury were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Mount Pleasant unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They and East Rowan finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Mount Pleasant's first draw of the season.

Salisbury is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those seven matches. Mount Pleasant's draw makes their record 9-3-1 this season.

Salisbury took their win against Mount Pleasant in their previous meeting back in March of 2017 by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
