Softball Game Preview: Picayune Maroon Tide vs. George County Rebels

Picayune is 1-6 against George County since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Maroon Tide will challenge the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. Neither Picayune nor George County posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Picayune and Harrison Central, and Harrison Central kept the tradition alive. The Maroon Tide fell just short of the Red Rebels by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Meanwhile, George County and Hernando (ranked 43rd and 18th in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile match on Saturday. The Rebels fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-0. The Rebels' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

George County's defeat dropped their record down to 20-2. As for Picayune, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
