Volleyball Recap: Pinedale Wranglers vs. Lander Valley Tigers

After flying high against Worland last Saturday, Pinedale came back down to earth. The Wranglers fell just short of the Lander Valley Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Wranglers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Pinedale actually scored more points across those five sets (102-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 26-24, 11-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-9.

Despite the defeat, Pinedale saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Remedios Mata had 13 digs.

Pinedale has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-11-1 record this season. As for Lander Valley, their record now sits at 10-19.

Pinedale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Mountain View on the 18th. As for Lander Valley, they will square off against Lyman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
