Basketball Recap: Dupo Comes Up Short

Dupo played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Bunker Hill Minutemen 61-24. The Tigers were down 53-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Dupo lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tanner Francis, who posted seven points. Francis continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Bunker Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cole Yates led the charge by putting up 22 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Yates has scored at least a third of Bunker Hill's points. Jake Spencer was another key player, posting 16 points.

Dupo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Bunker Hill, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-11.

Dupo will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Bunker Hill, they will be taking part in a tournament against North Mac at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Bunker Hill has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 212 points over their last three games.
