After a string of six wins, Hiwassee Dam's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by the Cherokee Braves 84-42. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for Whitney Rogers, who went 10 of 15 en route to 22 points and six assists for Cherokee. The matchup was Rogers' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Rogers, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 14 points.

Hiwassee Dam's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. As for Cherokee, their victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Hiwassee Dam will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Blue Ridge Early College at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Cherokee, they will face off against Winston Salem Christian National at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
