Volleyball Recap: Westerville North Comes Up Short

Westerville North lost against Olentangy Liberty back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Warriors fell 3-1 to the Patriots.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 22-25, 25-18.

Owen Varsanyi paced Westerville North's offense, picking up 22 kills. Varsanyi got some help from Sam Gainey and his 32 assists. Brock Harbolt controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Olentangy Liberty's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sreekar Sunkara, who had 18 assists and three digs. Sunkara has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more assists the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Vihaan Soni, who had seven digs and three aces.

Westerville North's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Olentangy Liberty, their record is now 6-4.

Westerville North has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Hayes on the 3rd. As for Olentangy Liberty, they will take on Dublin Coffman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
