Softball Recap: River View Comes Up Short

River View extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 6-9. They lost 10-0 to the John Glenn Muskies. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Black Bears have suffered since April 2nd.

As for John Glenn, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For John Glenn's part, Kendall Snider made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Snider has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kinley Porter, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Ava Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

While River View had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
