Baseball Recap: Littleton Comes Up Short

Littleton had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it five. They came up short against Maynard, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Maynard this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

As for Maynard, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

For Maynard's part, E. Talcoff was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Talcoff a new career-high. Another player making a difference was M. Cede?o, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Littleton will challenge Fitchburg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maynard, they will face off against Lunenburg at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
