Baseball Recap: El Rancho Find Success

El Rancho posted their closest victory since March 10th on Wednesday. They skirted past the La Serna Lancers 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Dons: when they faced off against the Lancers back in March, they had to take a 6-5 defeat.

Alexander Moraza made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Moraza was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Moraza wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Randy Maravillas, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

El Rancho is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for La Serna, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

El Rancho will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lancers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
