Recap: Virginia Academy Patriots vs. Grovetown Warriors
The Virginia Academy Patriots 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grovetown.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Surafel Muluneh, who scored 11 points. Mike Manser was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Virginia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Grovetown, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Virginia Academy is on the road again on Saturday and play against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 6:00 p.m. on December 9th. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.4 points per game. Grovetown will be home for the holidays to greet Richmond at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Grovetown in their respective states (Richmond is ranked 23rd in North Carolina, while Grovetown is ranked 324th in Georgia).
