Volleyball Recap: Lanphier Comes Up Short

Lanphier lost against East St. Louis back in September of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lions fell 2-0 to the Flyers.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12.

Miley Frakes paced Lanphier's offense, picking up three kills. Frakes got some help from Elizabeth Powell and her five assists. Finally, Powell was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Lanphier has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season. As for East St. Louis, their victory bumped their record up to 8-17.

Lanphier has already played their next contest (against Mt. Pulaski), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for East St. Louis, they will host Collinsville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
