Volleyball Recap: Pinnacle Classical Academy Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Pinnacle Classical Academy came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Haywood Christian Academy Red Wolves. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Red Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Pinnacle Classical Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 25-7, 25-17.

Leading Pinnacle Classical Academy to victory were Evie Harmon and Lily Wellmon. Harmon had five aces, three digs, and one block, while Wellmon had nine kills, four digs, and one block. Wellmon has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 16 times she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Pinnacle Classical Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Pinnacle Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Haywood Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinnacle Classical Academy will challenge Christian Family Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haywood Christian Academy, they will head out to face off against Blue Ridge Early College at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Wolves are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
