Bullitt Central hasn't had much luck against Bullitt East recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Chargers at 5:30 p.m. Bullitt Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Bullitt Central took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over DeSales. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Cole Halbrook and Taylor Coffman did most of the damage at the plate: Halbrook went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Coffman went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Bullitt Central is undefeated when Coffman posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mason Burton, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bullitt Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Bullitt East hadn't done well against Male recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Chargers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 5-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Chargers, who have now won five contests in a row.
Devin Elder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Elder was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jack Willard was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Colin Feger also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Bullitt East pushed their record up to 14-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Bullitt Central, their record now sits at 9-7.
Bullitt Central suffered a grim 20-5 defeat to Bullitt East when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
