Basketball Game Preview: Woodlawn Prep Wolfpack vs. Tensas Academy Chiefs

The Woodlawn Prep Wolfpack will challenge the Tensas Academy Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodlawn Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.7 points per game this season.

Woodlawn Prep is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Columbia Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak back in December of 2024. They fell to the Cougars 56-52. While the Wolfpack didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 19-10 in the first quarter.

Woodlawn Prep might have lost, but man, Jack Carney was a machine: he went 8 for 12 on his way to 23 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Carney a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Reed, who posted nine points along with six assists and six boards.

Meanwhile, 2025 welcomed Tensas Academy with a 58-34 loss courtesy of Briarfield Academy on Monday. The Chiefs have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Tensas Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Woodlawn Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-3.

Everything came up roses for Woodlawn Prep against Tensas Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 71-30 victory. In that match, Woodlawn Prep amassed a halftime lead of 46-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
