Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Road Wins for Cedar Mountain

Cedar Mountain won against St. Mary's last Tuesday with 74 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Everything went the Cedar Mountain Cougars' way against the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds as the Cedar Mountain Cougars made off with a 74-54 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, New Ulm Cathedral still got an impressive performance from Colin Anderson, who went 6 of 13 to rack up 17 points. That's the most points Anderson has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Finstad, who put up nine points and seven boards.

Cedar Mountain's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points over those games. As for New Ulm Cathedral, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Coming up, Cedar Mountain will square off against Wabasso at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wabasso knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 23 games -- so hopefully Cedar Mountain likes a good challenge. As for New Ulm Cathedral, they will take on Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
