Football Recap: Morgan/Old Saybrook/Westbrook Triumphs

After low-scoring totals in their previous five matchup, Morgan/Old Saybrook/Westbrook brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They took down the Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley/Classical Magnet Tigerhawks 42-24 on Friday. Morgan/Old Saybrook/Westbrook has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley/Classical Magnet, too.

Several Tigerhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ameer Pitts, who threw for 285 yards and three TDs. Pitts has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley/Classical Magnet's leading receiver Andres Baez was Pitts' top target yet again, picking up 154 receiving yards and one score.

Morgan/Old Saybrook/Westbrook's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley/Classical Magnet, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
