Softball Recap: Salem Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Salem, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Paoli Rams with a sharp 9-1 victory on Monday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Salem let Kenadie Garloch and Sydney Wilson run wild. Garloch went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run, while Wilson went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave Wilson a new career-high. Harley Walters also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Salem's record now sits at 4-2. As for Paoli, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Salem will be playing at home against Eastern at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Paoli, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 20-0 victory against Cannelton on the 22nd.
