Basketball Recap: Poca Comes Up Short

Poca played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Ravenswood Red Devils, falling 72-51. The Dots haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Poca lost, don't look at Austin Gillig. Despite the final result, he shot 46% from the field en route to 21 points. Jakob Potter was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points and three steals.

Carson Varney had a dynamite game For Ravenswood., shooting 45% from the field on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gonzalo Garcia, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points and seven boards.

Poca's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ravenswood, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poca and Scott will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenswood will take on Williamstown in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
