Orem had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles 69-39 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won 11 games in a row.

Orem had a senior duo take command as Chance Dastrup went 6-for-9 en route to 16 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds and Ryker Mikkelsen shot 45% from the field on his way to 15 points along with five boards and three steals. That's the most boards Mikkelsen has posted since back in December of 2024. Will Rasmussen also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Orem was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They racked up seven more assists than Maple Mountain's also-impressive total of 12.

Maple Mountain lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Solomon Krommenhoek, who put up six points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cole Erickson, who scored two points along with eight assists and three steals.

Orem's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Maple Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.

Orem didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-53 defeat against Brighton on the 25th. Maple Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
