Softball Preview: Scottsbluff Meets Gering

The Scottsbluff Bearcats will challenge the Gering Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Gering is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Scottsbluff is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Lincoln Southeast just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 11-3 to the Knights.

Scottsbluff saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danielle Hunter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 while posting 2 stolen bases. Hunter has also been pretty much perfect as far as strikeouts are concerned: she hasn't struck out any for six straight games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Gering was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They fell just short of Cozad by a score of 4-2.

Scottsbluff's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Gering, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
