Baseball Game Preview: Buena Bulldogs vs. San Marcos Royals

The Buena Bulldogs will take on the San Marcos Royals at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Buena is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Buena came up short against San Marcos and fell 6-2.

For San Marcos' part, Ethan Frost-Stokhaug tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Frost-Stokhaug has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Patrick Foster was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of San Marcos' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 3-17 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Herbert, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for San Marcos and bumps their season record up to 8-19. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Buena, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
