Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Empower College Prep Wolf 85-54. The Heroes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 31 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Empower College Prep lost, don't look at Edger Gastelum. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Gastelum has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Oscar Gastelum was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks.

The victory (which was Heritage Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Empower College Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Heritage Academy and Empower College Prep will both be playing South Pointe the next time they take the court. Heritage Academy will host South Pointe at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Empower College Prep will host them at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
