Basketball Recap: Jenna Schilling Key Part of Team Effort in Lakers Win

Millersport won against Liberty Christian Academy last Tuesday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Millersport Lakers walked away with a 54-45 win over the Patriot Prep Academy Eagles. For the Lakers, this counts as revenge for the 59-14 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2017.

Millersport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenna Schilling, who posted ten points and eight steals. Millersport is 7-2 when Schilling posts five or more steals, but 2-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Raver, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.

Millersport smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Millersport's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Patriot Prep Academy, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Looking ahead, Millersport will venture away from home to challenge Delaware Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Delaware Christian will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Millersport surely won't give up without a fight. Patriot Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
