Baseball Game Preview: Golden West Trailblazers vs. Reedley Pirates

The Golden West Trailblazers will take on the Reedley Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Golden West will be strutting in after a victory while Reedley will be coming in after a defeat.

Golden West is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Dinuba. Golden West walked away with a 10-6 win over Dinuba on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Trailblazers in their matchups with the Emperors: they've now won five in a row.

Ty Derryberry looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Alfredo Enriquez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Braidyn Padilla, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Reedley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fowler on Wednesday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Redcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Golden West couldn't quite finish off Reedley when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can Golden West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
