Soccer Recap: Powell County Comes Up Short

Powell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garrard County Golden Lions. While losing is never fun, Powell County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky soccer rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Garrard County are ranked 38th).

Powell County's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Garrard County, their win bumped their record up to 8-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powell County will challenge Bath County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Garrard County, they will venture away from home to face off against Boyle County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
