Softball Recap: Baldwyn Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tremont on Thursday, Baldwyn came back down to earth. Baldwyn lost 14-5 to the Walnut Wildcats on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Jana Claire Collins was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

Baldwyn now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Walnut, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baldwyn will square off against Wheeler at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Walnut, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Walnut Wildcats face off against Hamilton Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. They are facing Hamilton at the right time seeing as Hamilton is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
