Recap: Compass Rose Legacy Polar Bears vs. Lifegate Christian Falcons
The Compass Rose Legacy Polar Bears won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt a 39-7 loss at the hands of Lifegate Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Compass Rose Legacy has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Compass Rose Legacy struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lifegate Christian racked up eight assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lifegate Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anelyna Cavazos, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. Cavazos is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Sharla Maples was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Compass Rose Legacy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lifegate Christian, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Compass Rose Legacy will take on San Antonio Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. San Antonio Prep's defense has only allowed 23 points per game this season, so Compass Rose Legacy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lifegate Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Salem Sayers Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Salem Sayers Baptist Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
