Volleyball Recap: Washington-Wilkes Tigers vs. Athens Academy Spartans
Washington-Wilkes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Athens Academy Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2019.
The final score came out to 25-16, 25-8.
Washington-Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Athens Academy, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 17-10.
Washington-Wilkes will face off against Lake Oconee Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Oglethorpe County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Athens Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
