Baseball Game Preview: Avella Eagles vs. Jeannette Jayhawks

For the second straight game, Avella will face off against Jeannette. The Eagles will welcome the Jayhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avella's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Jeannette's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Avella gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past Jeannette 5-4.

For Jeannette's part, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amari Thomas, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The Jayhawks are 2-1 when Thomas posts two or more runs, but 0-5 otherwise. Evyn Yargeau was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Avella's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Jeannette, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
