Softball Recap: Palmetto Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Palmetto can now relate to. They lost 7-0 to the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs on Tuesday. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

MaKenna Lee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

Palmetto's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Lakewood Ranch, they moved to 13-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakewood Ranch, they will square off against Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulls' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
