Baseball Recap: Gilman Triumphs

While Gilman didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Prairie Farm Panthers by a score of 9-5 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Max Pockat spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Gilman got a big performance out of Trevin Duellman, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Connor Nichols, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Gilman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Gilman's victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Gilman will square off against Stanley-Boyd at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Prairie Farm, they will take on Flambeau at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
