Softball Recap: Northmont Takes a Loss

Northmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to the Symmes Valley Vikings. That's two games in a row now that the Thunderbolts have lost by exactly three runs.

Northmont's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Symmes Valley, the win (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northmont will host Fairmont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunderbolts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Symmes Valley, they will take on Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Vikings have won 14 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Eagles won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
