While Great Bend's win against Liberal wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Redskins on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won six in a row.

Daxton Minton made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Minton wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Koehn Ribordy, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Great Bend's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Liberal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
