Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Challis). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Watersprings 60-12. The Vikings have beaten Watersprings the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Watersprings has come to flipping the script.
Challis found their leader in freshman Owen Thayn, who threw for 171 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 80 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Thayn's passing game has become a key predictor of the Vikings' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise.
Challis was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 410 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
