Softball Recap: San Fernando Takes a Loss

San Fernando extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-11 in the process. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kennedy Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Kennedy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.

For Kennedy's part, Aubrie Rodriguez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sarah Olague, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Mia Salgado was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

San Fernando has already played their next contest, a 4-3 defeat against Chavez on the 25th. As for Kennedy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 victory against Arleta on the 25th.
