Football Recap: Corvian Community Skates Past Pine Lake Prep with Ease

Corvian Community got themselves on the board against Pine Lake Prep on Friday, but Pine Lake Prep never followed suit. They blew past the Pride 38-0. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Pride are ranked 356th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The critical scores for Corvian Community came from Desmond Walker and Kelvin Stinson.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Corvian Community, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Stinson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The win (which was Corvian Community's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.5 points on average over those games. As for Pine Lake Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Corvian Community wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 49-7 win against Langtree Charter Academy on the 10th. As for Pine Lake Prep, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christ the King at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
