Basketball Recap: Chicago Mt. Carmel Beats Brother Rice for Their Seventh Straight Win

Chicago Mt. Carmel waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Brother Rice Crusaders by a score of 70-62. The score was all tied up 32-32 at the break, but the Caravan were the better team in the second half.

Chicago Mt. Carmel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Thomas out in front who went 7-for-11 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. The game was Thomas' sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Grant Best, who went 8-for-13 en route to 16 points and four steals.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points over those games. As for Brother Rice, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 23-6.
