Volleyball Recap: Kiowa County Takes a Loss

Kiowa County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Gray Rebels. If the Mavericks were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Rebels when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kiowa County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-17.

Kiowa County's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for South Gray, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kiowa County is set to face off against their familiar foe Hodgeman County on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Gray will square off against rival Satanta on Tuesday.
