Basketball Recap: Ringgold's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Ringgold was the 53-51 winner over Pleasant Hill when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Ringgold Redskins took an 83-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pleasant Hill Eagles on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Eagles are ranked 72nd).

Despite the loss, Ringgold still got an impressive performance from LaDaunte McCoy, who went 10 of 16 en route to 36 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave McCoy a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Keenan Johnson, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

The defeat snapped Ringgold's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-17 record. As for Pleasant Hill, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ringgold won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Jonesboro-Hodge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pleasant Hill, they will be playing at home against East Feliciana at 5:00 p.m. on February 11th.
