Basketball Recap: Lordstown Comes Up Short

Lordstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a blow against the Bristol Panthers, falling 79-22. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 854th, while the Panthers are ranked 425th).

Lordstown's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Bristol, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lordstown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Harding at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bristol, they are taking a road trip to challenge Maplewood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Maplewood: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Bristol has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
