Basketball Recap: Salisbury Christian Takes a Loss

Salisbury Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Southern Maryland Christian Academy Mustangs, falling 83-35. While losing is never fun, Salisbury Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Southern Maryland Christian Academy is ranked 50th).

Salisbury Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Salisbury Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chincoteague at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Southern Maryland Christian Academy and KIPP College Prep will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Southern Maryland Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully KIPP College Prep likes a good challenge.
